5" Diskit pad is rated for 10,000 RPM and are used on random orbital pneumatic sanders requiring a 5/16"-24 thread stud or on electric right angle sander/grinders requiring a 5/8"-11 threaded hole.
Firm, but not stiff. Great feathering action and precise control over final surface.
