Atec SS-ESS Schaffer Shifter Standard Kit.
Manual Controller For Testing Computer Shifted Transmissions.
Includes adapters for the majority of US and Asian transmissions. Most of the major systems in today's vehicles are controlled by computers. More than half the vehicles coming into shops with shifting problems have nothing wrong with the transmission itself. In most cases the problem actually is in the computer system. To decided which type of problem exists, you must isolate the transmission from the computer system. By using the Schaffer Shifter you can override the computer system to control transmission operation. If the transmission operates properly from the Schaffer Shifter unit, you know the problem is in the computer system.
Easy To Use: Just disconnect the transmission connector from the vehicle harness, and plug it into the custom adapter, and drive the vehicle. You control the shift, the converter clutch... even the line pressure, all from the Shifter's intuitive control panel. No pressures to check...no wiring schematics to interpret. Just connect and go.
