Kent-Moore DT-50488 Arbor Support, Pinion Setting

The pinion to ring gear relationship is crucial for axle performance and service life. This placement is achieved by a shim between the pinion and the inner bearing. DT-50488 is used with components from J-34925 Pinion Shim Selection Kit and DT-50487 Gauge Plate to determine the required pinion shim. Because the differential side bearings are on the adjusters instead of the differential case, conventional side bearing discs cannot be used. DT-50488 supports J-21777-1 Arbor, and allows J-8001-3 Dial Indicator to locate correctly on J-21777-1. Using an incorrect shim will affect axle performance, and shorten its service life.
