Kent-Moore DT-49027 Replacer, Spiral Pin

For GM / General Motors. The shift linkage connection to the shift shaft is retained by a slip-fit solid pin with a cover sleeve. This pin is being replaced by a spiral-wound pin, with an interference fit. This new pin must be installed completely centered into the shift shaft and yoke to provide consistent retention force. If the pin is not properly centered within the yoke, it may possibly work its way out, causing the shift yoke to separate from the shaft. Due to the position of the shift shaft over the output shaft case extension, there is very limited access to the underside on the pin for service. DT-49027 fits between the case and the shift shaft, and is used with J-23907-1 Slide Hammer during service, including shift shaft seal replacement, to move the pin out of the yoke off-center. The collet of DT-49027 is tightened over the pin, and J-23907-1 is used to fully remove the pin. DT-49027 also includes an installer to ensure the pin is centered in the yoke and shaft.
