Extreme heat presents its own dangers. Tires wear differently in the heat (and are more prone to tread separation while under-inflated), cooling systems work harder, and older-model batteries can lose fluid. Follow these simple tips from the Weather Channel and the Car Care Council to keep your car running its best this Summer:

Summer can be tough on cars, especially during high temperatures when heat can destroy batteries and stress the cooling system and tires. As a precaution, these vehicle components should be checked periodically during summer to help avoid breakdowns and car problems, according to the Car Care Council.
